On a crisp & bright Fall afternoon, a boy & his father wander home after a walk in the park. It is a time of rest & renewal & in the setting sun, the boy says goodnight to all his favorite & familiar friends.
With Kim Howard's vivid, immediate & colorful illustrations, Holly Bea sets a lovely bedtime story before us.
Leaves of fire, skies of blue with puffy great clouds framing a fine Fall sunset, a little boy plays & sings his goodnights to all he sees around him.
Feeding peanuts to the squirrels & calling good night to them; to the mice he spies & to the trees and the deer; to the garden in front of his house & the pumpkins on his porch; to the kittens & his teddy bears.
Woven through this lilting poem is a reverence & affection for God & in that way children have of making friends with the most imposing of us all, this little boy calls good night to God for all his joy.
A fine read to teach the power of observation, prayer & peace. A delightful, tender tale of that immense contentment, spiritual confidence gives us.
I recommend Good Night God for anyone with the wonder of a child for this bright & lovely time of year. Grandparents, aunts & uncles - this one is a must on your Gift Lists.
Heartwarming ideas for the mind & colorful, charming white picket fence pictures for the eyes.
